Herb Notes: Feverfew

Feverfew

Mainly known today for its undoubted success in treating Migraine, Feverfew is in fact a surprisingly versatile herb. Most surprising of all it has recently been discovered that oils in Feverfew are completely abhorrent to biting insects of all kinds! Indeed we have had reports back from travellers who have taken Feverfew during expeditions to such "bitey" places as the Amazon, the Scottish Highlands and the Jungles of S.E. Asia and been more or less ignored by the same voracious bugs which were eating their companions alive! However, Feverfew is chiefly used for a range of less exotic purposes at home! Unsurprisingly, considering its name, Feverfew cools fevers! Furthermore, daily doses of the tincture can help prevent migraine attacks and are useful too in moderating arthritic and rheumatic pain.
