Endometriosis

The endometrium is the lining of the womb that is shed each month during menstruation. In Endometriosis this lining grows in sites outside the womb (usually somewhere in the pelvic cavitiy). Each month this tissue will respond to the normal hormonal cycle causing abdominal pain and inflammation, irregular bleeding, fatigue and infertility. If you suspect you have this disorder you should seek professional advice. Animal fats tend to increase inflammation and vegetable fats tend to help reduce inflammation so a vegetarian diet may help relieve symptoms. Acupuncture can also help alleviate this condition.
