Colic

Many babies suffer from colic caused by trapped wind: this is most common during the baby’s first three months and usually at its worst in the evening and during the night. Attention to breast feeding techniques or a change in bottle formula can make a big difference in some cases. Resisting the temptation to feed too frequently (“Comfort Feeding”) can also improve matters significantly. Feeds must be kept at least 2 hours apart to allow partially-digested milk to pass through the stomach before fresh milk is consumed.
